When Dustin took Joanna on their first date, he knew there was something more to her. They hit it off quickly and both had a sense that they would be more than just a bleep in one another's history. Some may appreciate a dose of sentimentality and call it love at first sight. But I'd like to think it was what C. S. Lewis calls "the secret thread," the indefinable, common string that swiftly draws two people into a friendship, even a romance. Either way, Dustin and Joanna hit it off that first date...and the next one, and the next. Fast forward through a few years and that "secret thread" has grown into something much stronger, more definable, and time-tested. Naturally, they've decided to create a life together and are planning a beautiful winter wedding this January.
I met these two at Joanna's family farm for their engagement shoot and had such a fun time getting to know them better. We started with a cloudy sky, but the sun peeked out right as we were ending our session, making it the perfect evening. Oh, and Joanna sent me home with a bag full of vegetables from their garden and hot sausage....that made it even more perfect. They must know my love language is food. :) Thank you so much, Dustin and Joanna. You guys are so genuine, giving, and easy-going. It really was a joy to be with you both. Ya'll are the real deal, and I couldn't be more honored to be your wedding photographer!
