Christine & Bart | Grove City, Pa Maternity Photography

One of the greatest privileges of being a portrait photographer is photographing clients and friends during some of the most joyful times in their lives.  I am grateful even more so when I get to photograph clients repeatedly and in new seasons.  Christine & Bart were actually one of the first couples to hire me for their wedding after we moved to Grove City a few years ago and they're now expecting a baby this winter. I was delighted when Christine contacted me about taking maternity photographs.  I loved the chance to see them again, hear about their growing family's plans, and of course document their expectant joy!

When our neighbor's sweet mother contacted me a few months ago about surprising her daughter and son-in-law with a maternity shoot, I couldn't have been more excited. I've mentioned this before, but maternity photographs are among my favorite to create; creating them for our neighbors was a complete win! Katie and Seth are expecting their first child - a girl - next month and I was honored to document this hopeful season for them.  The sky taunted us a bit on our scheduled day, but we ended up enjoying the most lovely lighting along some local country roads that evening. These are a few of my favorites from our time together.

Phuong & Phil | Grove City, PA Maternity Photography

We have certifiably leapt into spring here in Grove City and I couldn't be more grateful! Our streets are lined with light-hued flowering trees, our yard is sprinkled with golden dandelions (albeit to my husband's dismay), my children are spending their hours outdoors, and we can finally leave our home without the clumsy shuffle of jackets. Spring may arrive a bit late here in Western Pennsylvania, but it is oh-so-lovely when it does! What's more, it's the ideal time for portrait sessions, especially maternity ones.  Creating photographs of an expectant family seems especially fitting when nature is awakening with new life. Phuong contacted me a few months ago about a maternity shoot and, after a few attempts at scheduling, we finally landed on the perfect evening late last week. I met sweet Phuong and Phil here at their alma mater and enjoyed a beautiful evening walking around campus and documenting this sweet season in their family's life. I couldn't have asked for a better family shoot this past Saturday evening.  The breeze was gentle, the air was warm, the sun was shining beautifully (can you believe it!?), and this growing family was amazing as always!  It was worth every mosquito bite. :) Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together and have a wonderful Monday!
