They grew up just a few miles apart, went to the same high school, visited the same stores, and shared mutual friends--all in our small, everybody-knows-everybody town. But these two? They remained perfect strangers. Not even on one another's radar. But that all changed one evening down in the big city. A mutual friend introduced Tyler to Elena over drinks, and so started their story. Tyler's quiet and calming strength steadily drew Elena's bubbly, contagious energy. And there in Pittsburgh, surrounded by thousands and thousands of strangers, Elena and Tyler grew a friendship. Before long, Tyler was down on one knee asking his sprightly, beautiful Elena for her hand in marriage. I suppose the book lover in me would like to think it took a big city to bring this small town pair together.
Since Elena & Tyler will be married next May in Grove City, it seemed only appropriate to photograph their engagement in Pittsburgh, the city they now call home. Jake recently shared with me that Pittsburgh has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, architecturally. And honestly, I'm really not all that surprised. It really is such a beautiful city, and it was a true pleasure to photograph this sweet couple on the Northside. Thank you so much, Elena & Tyler. You two were so, so wonderful! I had such a terrific time capturing this season in your life together, and I love what we created together. Starting in Randyland was the perfect idea, Elena; we all know you've got a knack for styling;). Oh, and I want your shoes.
After a quick outfit change, we headed out of the Mexican War Streets neighborhood towards the river for a bit
of a different look. I loved the variety of scenes and backgrounds we were able to capture. Makes me miss the city!
