I experienced a first at this wedding--the groom stood up to give a speech. He eloquently shared with the inquisitive guests his beautiful love story. An incredible story that spans not only hundreds of letters and many years, but two continents. Steven met Natalia in her homeland, Russia. She was the translator for his short-term church missionary group. In his speech, Steven shared about a drawing Natalia had given him at the end of that first trip to Russia. He had been impressed by some of her artwork, so he asked her to sketch him something before his group headed home to America. Natalia drew two paths uniting, becoming one. She told Steven that she hoped, one day, their paths would cross once more. Little did they know how prophetic that drawing would become.
Steve & Natalia are warm, kind, godly, and thoughtful people. I don't choose those adjectives lightly--Steve & Natalia are truly beautiful people. And they waited a long time for this day! Jake and I were very honored to capture their gorgeous wedding and the final marking of their paths becoming one. Thank you, Steve and Natasha. Much love and gratitude to you both. We hope you have a fantastic time in Las Vegas!
After the beautiful ceremony and the family portraits in front of the altar at HZUMC, we were slated to head down to Harmony for
wedding party and bridegroom portraits. But it was pouring! We threw together a few backup plans, and set out for our new
destinations. And then, the skies cleared! I was delighted that Steve & Natalia could have the wedding photographs they so desired!
Steven and Natalia hosted a beautiful reception at the Marriott in Cranberry. The evening was simultaneously elegant,
romantic, and full of laughter. A special thank you to Ross Denman, the DJ--he was not only wonderful to work
with, he also put together one amazing dance party. I've never seen so many guests out on the dance floor!
This one's just for fun:).
