They're just perfect for each other. I cannot tell you how many times I heard this or a similar sentiment on Saturday! Everyone--parents, siblings, friends--seemed to agree that the pairing of Diana and Asa couldn't be more perfect. And after seeing these two together, I really couldn't agree more. The admiring way Diana talked about Asa while getting ready, the sincere way he cared for her throughout the day, and the way they laughed together a lot--all pointed to the beautiful, well-seasoned love they share.
I've known Diana and her sister Stephanie for as long as I can remember. Our parents have been friends for years, so we've spent many holidays together. We've got a lot of memories, but the time Diana saved me from MAJOR embarrassment on my wedding day definitely stands out. It all started about twenty minutes before my marriage ceremony. My hair was done, makeup finished, dress on--I was set. Then I slid into my wedding shoes, and things went downhill quickly. I stood up only to look down and see a dress that was about two inches too long. I honestly couldn't even walk without tripping over my dress. How had I not noticed this problem before!? All I could picture was my dad holding me up to keep me from falling all the way down the very long church aisle. It was definitely too late to hem my dress or purchase new shoes, but there was just NO way I could walk with the ones I had. Then in came Diana. She graciously offered me her silver, glittery, 6-inch platform shoes and they were absolutely perfect (and much more comfortable than the ones I had). Diana walked around barefoot most of the day so that I could have her shoes. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her!
Needless to say, I think you're pretty incredible, Diana. And I think you've met your perfect match in Asa. You two put together a lovely day--from the paper flowers and decorations to your fabulous wedding party! And Diana, you were stunning! Thanks so much for trusting me to capture it all. I hope you're having a wonderful time in Chicago!
