The week before Christmas, I spent a part of my Friday afternoon photographing our dear friends and their beautiful children. We met in Amish country and, against a stark landscape not too far from Grove City, we created a small collection of family portraits. I really enjoy photographing clients during winter, framing portraits that juxtapose an unforgiving terrain with the warmth and soul of a family. And in this case, drawing attention to a family's vibrance seemed especially fitting. Chris and Christy moved their family here less than two years ago, but they've already fostered an incredible momentum in the arts and vitality of our small community. And to me personally, Christy has quickly become a kindred spirit--I'm so grateful for her honesty, encouragement, and friendship. All that to say, creating these photographs on a cold afternoon a few weeks ago was an absolute joy. Here are a few of my favorites from our time together. Stay warm out there!
