The porch-sitting folk of Grove City probably could have predicted this outcome years ago. They would tell you these two started back in middle school--just two kids, enjoying summer bike rides through the neighborhood streets to the local ice cream shoppe. So their friendship began. And it remained that for years--just friends. But fast forward through high school and college, about a decade or so later, to a fortuitous evening birthday party. When Stephen saw Melissa that night, she was no longer just the middle school girl on a bike ride. It didn't take long for Melissa to steal his heart and, excuse the cliche, the rest is history. But I'll be the first to tell you that these two don't take themselves too seriously--they still share that fun-loving, young friendship that started on those middle school ice cream rides.
I met Melissa and Stephen this past weekend for their engagement shoot. We met a few towns over and found a lovely, nearby evergreen tree farm. I've been wanting to do an engagement shoot in the snow for quite some time--a fun, editorial style, wintery J Crew-inspired shoot. And these two were perfect for it! Everything came together just beautifully, from their well-styled outfits to the afternoon sun and beautiful snow.
I honestly cannot say enough good things about Melissa and Stephen! They are so kind, considerate, fun, trusting, approachable...the list could go on. Just a few minutes into our shoot, I felt like an old friend. It was in the mid-20s during our hour-long shoot, but they didn't complain even once about the cold. Thank you so much, Melissa and Stephen. I can't wait for wedding in September!
I am getting worse and worse at narrowing down images for this blog, so sit back and enjoy A LOT of images:).
